Pickup and return

The handover is where the bond does its job. A few photos at pickup and return protect both of you.

In short

  • Renter: Acknowledge Pickup. Owner: Start Pickup and take 2 to 10 condition photos.
  • Renter: check the photos, tap Agree & Start Rental. The rental is charged now.
  • Return: same again in reverse, then the owner taps Accept Return.
  • Bond releases on acceptance, or automatically within 48 hours.

At pickup

  1. Renter confirms the plan

Open the booking under Bookings. Under Pickup Details tap Acknowledge Pickup. This tells the owner you are coming.

  2. Owner photographs the item

When you meet, the owner taps Start Pickup and takes at least 2 photos of the item as it is right now, up to 10. Photos must come from the camera, not the gallery, so they are time-stamped to the handover.

  3. Renter agrees and the rental starts

The renter looks at the photos and taps Agree & Start Rental. This is the moment the rental amount is charged to the renter's card. The bond stays as a hold.

Something wrong at pickup? Under the button you will find Report a problem with the item, Decline this handover, and Pickup didn't happen. Use them rather than sorting it out in chat.

At return

  1. Agree the time and place

Tap Acknowledge Return Time and Location on the booking.

  2. Return inspection

At the handover, tap Start Return. Take 2 to 10 photos of the item, then Confirm Return.

  3. Owner accepts

The owner compares the return photos with the pickup ones and taps Accept Return. If something is damaged or missing, they use Claim Damage or Report an Issue instead and the bond stays held while it is looked at.

When does the bond come back?

Owners: photos are your protection. A claim without pickup photos is your word against theirs. Two clear shots take twenty seconds.
